"We had a wonderful stay at Chambre d'Hotes L'Ancienne Ecole. It is a beautiful period property in the lovely town of La Wantzenau. Katia is an amazing host, with passionate knowledge of the Alsace area. Nothing was too much trouble, with a tasty French breakfast each morning. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area."

The facility was replacing it's hot water heater during our stay, we were called earlier in the day and advised we'd have no hot water, were offered free breakfast for the inconvenience. It's mid-summer so a quick, cold shower was acceptable. When asked, the front desk attendant advised us on how best to get to downtown Strasbourg by driving the short distance to Gare Hoenheim, parking for 4.20 Euro (4,20) which allowed up to 7 to take Tram B to...

"Highly recommend! Our room was lovely, and spacious. Very well decorated. The staff wonderful. Every night they vame by offering a nice selection of teas, asked if you needed any more towels. "Very picturesque room, under the eaves, just the type of quirky we like. No AC that we could see a control for, but opening the window to keep things cool in March is not an issue on the 3rd floor. Could be, though, in hotter months. However, one can get a pretty good draught when opening windows throughout the unit. Quiet neighborhood, so no city noise during the night even with open windows."

"Automated check-in can be problematic. After registration, did not receive email to advise of room number or pass code. Unable to gain access and stuck in foyer for some 20 minutes. Fortunately member of staff appeared who was very helpful. Have stayed in France B&B Hotels before and know what to expect. Very good value for money-especially the out of town venues-often near commercial/industrial parks which is fine if you don't intend to use room as a base for sight-seeing. As a stop-over/rest on a long journey, B&B Hotels are ideal."

Perfect place to stay for Christmas Markets!

"We loved everything about our stay this week - the house was decorated so sweetly and they even had a Christmas tree up! The location was perfect, not far to Strasbourg at all - and it’s in the cutest little town.We have been spoiled by the towel warmers in the bathrooms and the super comfortable beds. The hosts gave us several suggestions on where to go/eat and even let us practice speaking French with them (sorry!). We will definitely be coming back to stay here again, would love to see the area in the spring/summer! Thank you for everything, you really made the trip perfect for us! "

Great little find at Vendenheim

"A small, friendly hotel, located at a huge shopping and leisure area. Lots of eateries within walking distance. Including 2 buffets. Considering the quality and amenities at the hotel, we were very surprised at the very reasonable price. I will definitely return if we visit that area again. "
