"Aline was incredibly accommodating and a great communicator (French or Spanish). The lodging is definitely rustic but had all the amenities needed. Our kids loved playing on the grass, in the pool, and around the property. Great rural location fi that's what you're looking for. Wifi not strong enough to do work from home."

"You enter through a lush garden, the house decor is art deco, spacious dining/living room, plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, etc… The host, Sylvie, lives in the adjacent property, but everything remains very private. Silvia is a wonderful host, patiently shared info about local sites, grocery shopping, restaurants. It is an easy 10 minute walk to grocery , restaurants, and other shopping. We stayed a week, but could have easily done a longer stay. Highly recommended for up to 6 people. "

"From the initial enquiry, communication with the owners was excellent. Anne and Frédéric are excellent hosts, very helpful without being intrusive. The accommodation cannot be faulted. Clean, very well equipped and very spacious. Small but well stocked supermarket within 5 minutes. Larger Carrefour and E Leclerc hypermarkets within 20 minutes. Pleasant 3 mile walk through vineyards and around a lake straight from the Gite with more demanding and walks and hikes within driving distance....

"We are a family of 5, with 3 teens. We had so much space in really clean and comfortable surroundings. Communication was excellent and Martine and Jean were good hosts. The pool area with outdoor kitchen was lovely and peaceful and the garage with ping pong a treat! Would recommend to families or groups. Mais il n’y a qu’un petit drap de bain prévu par personne pour tout votre séjour ( nous sommes restés 2 semaines.) Ce n’est vraiment pas assez, comment on fait avec la piscine et la douche ? Pas de coussin de chaises le long de la piscine, comment on fait avec ces petites serviettes pour ne pas se brûler contre le plastique des chaises? Il y a un éclairage au pourtour et dans la piscine...

"Long time friends joined my wife and I for 4 nights at this comfy apartment. We enjoyed the views of the old town from the back terrace and garden, especially at night. It is an uphill climb to visit the old town but the access point is very convenient. The apartment itself is very comfortable, while compact, and easily accommodated four of us. "This property though simple was an excellent value. Rooms were clean. Parking was plentiful. Included breakfast was very good. Easy walk to the fortress. The only downside was the laundry. With only one machine with a very small drum and many long-term residents, I would not count on the machine's availability. If you need to do laundry, there is a very good commercial one about a half-mile from the hotel. "

"The apartment was spacious. 1 bedroom, and sofa bed in living/kitchen area. Very clean and great air-conditioning. Kitchen/cooking area was basic but adequate for a short stay. Best way to stay to immerse yourself in old times

"The medieval city of Carcossonne is amazing, like stepping back in time, and staying at the Hotel De La Cite just contributes to this feeling (although only build in 1880's). A grand, imposing building directly opposite the Basilicca puts it at the heart of the old city. Excellent service, lovely comfortable rooms and a garden that is great for relaxing in the afternoon sun."

Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale

"The Hotel Le Donjon is one of the most unique places I've ever stayed. It was a great experience. From our room we could see the Chateau Comtal, the castle of Carcassonne. The hotel is right in the middle of La Cite Medievale, near the Aude Gate. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. It was great staying in the walled city. We could bring our purchases back to the room easily. The hotel also has a secured parking lot that it shares with the nearby Hotel de La Cite. We would definitely stay here again and request the same room!"
