"Hotel was close enough to walk to the city but distant enough to where you could enjoy the peace. Staff was very nice and helpful with our stay. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly while they were attending to us. Would recommend to others to stay here."

Mette is super lovely and communication is great, everything is clear and easy to understand- love the fact even the isolator switches for appliances have little labels telling you which is for which! The Backrest is an amazing place to stay on Skye, and I’m sure this won’t be our last visit. Thank you Mette & Sonia "

"If you are looking for a relatively remote spot with gorgeous views across the loch, this is perfect. The property was warm and cosy, great to hunker down despite the lashing rain and powerful wind outside. A short walk gets you to Talisker distillery, the Old Inn and little local convenience store, so yiu have all you need. Property well equipped and comfortable, great communication with owner - thanks for the opportunity to explores the wilds and wiles of Skye."
