" Very close to the train station and the bus terminal, which was great for us as we had no car. Room was basic and small, but it was clean and comfortable. They have a breakout area on the first floor which is lovely to sit and watch the world go by. "

"Beautiful location. Lovely staff, delicious breakfast. Clean comfy rooms. Something to note is Uber or similar services are not permitted in the area. We needed a taxi to Truro and all local firms were booked so had to drive. We’d already had a drink in the bar before we realised this, thankfully not enough to be unable to drive but if we had that would have ruined our plans. Also worth mentioning is that a 25 min taxi ride when we got one the following day was £50. We will return to The Lugger...

"We loved where this place was with a lovely spacious room looking out across the harbour. The car park was a little way and the stairs up to the room were steep but worth it for a very well furnished and decorated room. Staff always friendly and helpful"

"Comfortable room, though not large, with en-suite and a really comfortable bed. We were welcomed on arrival and helped upstairs with our luggage. We had key to come and go as we pleased and visited different places each day. Only one wet day, otherwise warm and sunny - good for October. Mostly came back to eat dinner at the Inn - food was delicious. Excellent breakfasts too. Staff did everything possible to make it a good holiday for us. Many thanks! "

"Staff were polite and helpful. Room was very dated and very small, but clean and comfortable. However the loud music coming from the bar below our room went on until 11 pm so if you want a quiet restful place to stay DO NOT CONSIDER this location."

"Having spent years staying in National chain hotels this pub was exceptional & a breath of fresh air. Friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed & clean on suite rooms. Breakfast was probably the best freshly cooked that I've ever had. 5* for me. I would definitely recommend."

"Lovely few days at the Rising Sun. Room excellent, food good. Our only complaint was a very loud noise which woke us at around 6.45 am, think it came from the kitchen area."

"Lovely old hotel in the heart of the village , roaring fire , great menu and if like me you are a coeliac you are well catered for . Parking just around the corner and very cheap Very clean room , everything needed . Excellent breakfast and so friendly , we will return "

"The Bugle Inn is the oldest building in the area. We had our evening meal in the bar, the food was lovely, good portions size, nicely presented. We had a good night's sleep, the beds were comfy, the shower was hot. We did find a cobweb. Breakfast was a full cornish and was lovely. "

"We booked family room for 4, the room had a made up double bed and a sofa which only had a duvet, no linen or pillows. Only 2 mugs for teas. On arrival we were told they didnt do breakfast which was included in our stay, the Landlord then cooked us croissants the night before to take to our room for the morning. "Great place for a family get together. Plenty of room to spread out. Hot tub and games room were well used. The house is bright, modern and comfortable. Some of the double bedrooms were smaller than expected but fine overall. Beds were very comfortable. It was useful to have extra living space in the annexe. The lounge there became a temporary home office. One downside-the dishwasher was not adequate for the number of people staying at full occupancy. We spent too much time at the kitchen sink....
