This beach themed cottage is open concept with a queen bed and a queen lazy-boy pull-out couch. Your large bathroom features a porcelain walk-in shower and marble topped vanity. There is an electric fireplace for those cooler evenings.
The kitchen area has a grand, butcher block, stove top island, with convection oven. Swivel bar stools at the island provide you with your view over St. Margarets Bay looking towards Peggys Cove.
The kitchen is fully equipped with basic essentials and spices. (Paper towels, ketchup, relish, mustard, coffee, tea, sugar, bar b que sauce, etc). Our amazing drinking water is spring fed so there is no need to buy water. Grocery stores are very close, a 10 minute scenic drive away in beautiful Hubbards.
Your living area looks out over the wide open ocean and the islands of beautiful St. Margarets Bay. Binoculars are provided.
On your spacious veranda deck is a Weber gas barbecue and comfortable patio furniture for alfresco dining. A covered lanai allows outside seating even during a summer rain shower. You also have a propane fire pit for cooler evenings. This deck can comfortably accommodate 8 guests. Your beach cottage is 500sf.
The beach across the road is walkable at mid to low tide and is an excellent spot for beach glass hunting. The other beaches, 5 in all, are within a 5 minute drive. Porpoise and seals can sometimes be spotted in the water right in front of the cottage. We have also seen Minke whales.
Beach chairs and beach towels are provided.
A local bistro, Emile's is within a 5 minute walk and Hubbard's Seaside Village a 10 minute drive from your rental offers several other dining options, including oceanside dining at Tuna Blue Restaurant. The sunsets here are amazing.
We are centrally located for day trips to Halifax, a 40 minute drive to the downtown core. Peggy's Cove, Chester, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg are all 30-40 min away, including the world famous Oak Island.
The village of Hubbard's is a 10 minute drive and has a wonderful farmers market every Saturday with local music and artisans. There is a Tuesday afternoon farmers market in Tantallon, a 15 min. drive, and Fridays in Chester you'll find another farmers market. Many wonderful restaurants are also close by. Please ask us about our favorites.
The Annapolis Valley is an hour away where you'll find orchards, vineyards and world famous highest tides. Make sure you check out Halls Harbour where the fishing boats sit on the ocean floor at low tide. Burntcoat Head Provincial Park is also a place you can walk out on the ocean floor. This Provincial Park is located on the Noel Shore.
Walking and hiking trails abound with Rails to Trails hiking/biking/running trail accessible right behind our property. We have a fun oceanside hike that you can access a short 10 minute walk from this property.
We can provide an outdoor lobster cooking pot so you can prepare your own special treat. Fresh lobster is always available from our local fishermen and we enjoy showing folks how to cook and prepare their lobster. A washer and dryer are available on site.
All linens are provided along with paper towel, toilet paper, dish soap and basic spices (garlic, barbecue seasoning, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo, olive oil) We also have laundry facilities available.
Boating, fishing, golf, swimming, stand up paddle board/kayak rentals, snorkeling, wine tasting, river rafting, world's highest tides, Unesco World Heritage Sites and Oak Island (famous from the TV show "The Curse of Oak island) are all fun local activities available for your enjoyment.
ABOUT THE PROPERTY, UNIQUE FEATURE
The unique feature of our cottages is an enclosed breezeway which is in between the 2 units.
When the kitchen doors of each unit are open the entire living area of each cottage become one joined space.
Each cottage is a stand alone unit, and each cottage sleeps 4.
Because the 2 properties can be opened and connected this way it is a perfect solution for larger family vacations.
