"There were no surprises when we arrived and checked out the house. It was very thoughtful that there were some food items for our arrival. Everything worked fine and the owner was responsible for a couple of maintenance issues. The yard lights did not come on the last two nights and we missed them. Getting around the area by walking is a little sketchy because the roadway is narrow. We found the ferry stop 10 minutes from the house very convenient."

"Getting to the property is a bit tough, considering the hike and limited bus accessibility. But once you get there, the view is amazing and the property is well maintained. Giuliano was very friendly. "

"We had a great time. The house was charming and very comfortable. It is convenient to restaurants coffee shops and the grocery store are all within walking distant. The house was spacious and very nice. Typical European layout. I would definitely stay here again. Como is so beautiful. Blows Hawaii away. Sorry Kapalua, Maui you are now #2 in my heart. Although Sansei Restaurant in Maui is the best restaurant in the world hands down."

"Luigi was very helpful in settling us in. The room and bathroom are very basic…nothing fancy. There is no mirror in the bedroom to help to get ready. There is no counter space in the bathroom either. However it was clean."

"My wife and I stayed here for close to a week and we loved our stay. The scenery was beautiful and the private garden and walkway made it very easy to visit the town without having to walk in the street. My wife particularly enjoyed the views from each level of the villa and the many amenities offered. The kitchen is fully equipped (although oddly without plates) and so we were able to have a dinner we prepared ourselves, with the amazing view to complete the experience. We will definitely have...

"The property and views were wonderful and Mr. Luigi was fantastic. PLEASE do yourself a favor and enter the address into Google or Apple Maps and DO NOT rely on the map within the VRBO app. It is wrong. This Villa is up the hill in Perledo and not very accessible walking. We made due but it was certainly not where VRBO leads you to believe it is."

"It was great to look at the lake. Just be prepared for a lot of stairs and narrow streets with a lot of turns. Some of the issues were that there was still some food left in the fridge, the garbage wasn't clean, the hot water finishes pretty quickly!"

"Our extended family (three generations) stayed for a week at the holiday house. We had a wonderful stay. It is a historic home so there are lots of quirks to remember, but all of them made sense. The kitchen and dining area have everything that you need to make meals for the entire family. "If you are looking at visiting the Lake Como area with your kids, or other families, I strongly recommend Mandello and Villa Ornella. The layout of the house is great, the size perfect to accommodate 2 or even 3 families and Furio was a great host. "We had a magnificent stay in this villa in Varenna! This villa is perfect for a family, we were 4 adults and had lots of room to spare. It is centrally located, the furniture was very comfortable, not only the beds, but the living room area, as well. "This was our second stay in this beautiful villa and we enjoyed our stay even more since we were familiar with the area. It is located near enough to tourist-busy Bellagio, but far away enough that it is relaxing and quiet. The villa is beautiful and nicely furnished; the owner responds quickly and is welcoming. Amazing view of Bellagio just across the water on Lago Como. "Amazing Amazing Amazing!! Fabio was Fabulous!! Friendly staff and great service. Nice assortment for breakfast. Even though some of the property was under renovation it didn’t affect our stay, it just makes us want to come back when the suites are complete. The lake view from our room was breathtaking. Words and pictures don’t do it justice!! Thank you Il Perlo."

Just what we wanted

"The hotel is so conveniently located that we as many others, were able to walk from the airoport to the hotel in a short time. The receptionist was friendly and professional and gave us very good recommendations. We had a nice dinner at their cute restaurant and booked a shuttle for the next day very early flight. The hotel is modern with a very pleasant design, and very clean. The room was spacious with a big and comfortable bed and windows to a nice courtyard. The bathroom was also very nice. The next time we are flying from Orio al Serio to any destination we will for sure book a room at the NH hotel."
