Tiny -Eco House -Kokoro
These tiny eco dwellings have been custom built to compliment the principles of “Forest Therapy’ or “Shinrinyoku’ which is a popular practice in Japan. Shinrin means “forest” and yoku means “bath.”
Shinrin-yoku means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses. It is a researched based therapeutic modality with multi-factorial health benefits including stress reduction and elevating mood; and is impacting the world.

True to its name, it is tiny, but very cosy. The surroundings are beautiful. I had a hot bath in the outdoor bath, looking up at the rainforest and reflecting on the fact that it was completely silent except for the sound of birds and wind - something that I had not experienced in all my life.
My friends and i stayed at this property for a weekend get away and it was such an amazing experience the hosts were lovely and the place was clean and beautiful, i definitely would recommend this place to everyone i will be returning in the future
We had 2 lovely days in our Tiny Eco Cabin. There was all we needed and very relaxing and comfortable. The ourdoor bath was fabulous.
We loved our stay.
We found our stay at Kokoro to be probably the best part of our trip to Melbourne. The outside bath was so lovely to soak in while listening to the sounds of the forrest. It was quite overcast and raining while we were there but it made it even better! If we ever return, we would absolutely stay here again.
Lovely tiny house that is exactly what we needed for a getaway not to mention the fresh air and rainforest feel of the place. Quiet area however just k ow that there is some driving on unpaved road to get there so keep in mind when booking and what car you will bring (or just drive extra carefully if its lowered).
Heather was very responsive. The location was beautiful and the tiny home was cozy. A little close to the other two homes if you are really mindful of privacy and had a little trouble pulling the bed out but apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.
Such a unique property bordering the Otway National Park, very beautiful walk through forest and plenty of area for quiet amongst the trees and wildlife. My 8 year old daughter loves nature and couldn't get enough of it. Already booked our next stay.
Wonderful tiny house with beautiful surrounds. Heather was an amazing host who drove over an hour to help us out with an issue. Great location only 15-20 minutes away from Lorne town centre.
We loved our stay amongst the treetops in Kokoro. Every little personal touch was incredibly thoughtful and really enhanced our stay. It felt like coming home to nature. The property is stunning and the forest walk was truly medicine for our soul. Thank you ever so much Heather for creating such a unique magical forest escape x

Beautiful location but a few things to consider.
Location was lovely. Truly in amongst the forest. The tiny house was as described - tiny! There were several key things not explained to us prior however.
The main one was privacy: the other houses are very close by, and our tiny house didn't have a blind on the window next to the driveway, so people could see directly in as they were walking past or in their own tiny house!
The proximity to the actual road to the house itself was very close too - we stayed in Kokoro for reference.
The mattress was quite thin - something to keep in mind if you struggle with back pain for example.
We did feel the host really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The kitchen was lovely and there were some great treats in the cupboard - even a lovely bottle of wine for us to share!
Overall we really appreciated the level of hospitality provided. We could see what was trying to be achieved as a vision for the house and the surroundings, but felt the serenity was broken by lack of privacy.
