"The hotel was in a perfect spot for us, two middle age gents over for the weekend playing some golf. Close enough to the old town craziness for a drink and some food but not on your doorstep. It is also in the perfect spot to pick up the main road and get to the courses. We never waited more than 2min for an Uber. The hotel itself was clean and the breakfast buffet served its purpose. "The hotel provided daily cleaning which was nice and unusual to us for a 7-day resort stay. However, we were surprised that the unit didn't provide any tissue paper or paper towel for the kitchen. One single small cutting knife provided in the kitchen can barely cut through an apple. There was neither a dishwasher, nor dish washing liquid, sponge or kitchen towels. "The Roots Hotel was very convenient and comfortable, with a great location. We needed a parking spot, which they provided in an underground garage for a cost of 7 euros per day. We also needed to be near the train station, which was a very short walk from the hotel. And we wanted to be near Faro Airport, which was a short taxi ride away. In addition, there were tons of restaurants within a few blocks from the hotel. So the location was ideal for our stay and the front desk was very friendly. They offered complimentary coffee/cappuccino, etc in a room off the lobby. The room itself had a good separate bathroom with a large shower, a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, stove, microwave and dishes/dishwasher. We had no complaints about the room at all. Out of the 6 hotels we stayed at during our visit to Portugal, The Roots would be rated in the top two. I would definitely stay there again!"

Special stay in a lovely location

"Great location and views from roof terrace and the room. Breakfast buffet was fresh, lots of choice. Staff were amazing and noticed that one of our party had a Birthday the day of our check in and arranged a lovely surprise of a bottle of Sparkling to be brought to the room. This made an already lovely stay even more special."
