"This was my first time at the Hotel Du Vin. It’s usually out of my price range but this time it was inexpensive. Overall, it was a comfortable stay. This is an old-fashioned English hotel where the floors feel uneven and every room is different and quirky. The room and bathroom were very large. Water got very hot. The decor is old which doesn’t matter so much to me but they really need a clock in the room and some usb ports. The toilet doesn’t flush well, which was somewhat annoying. I missed...

"A lovely stay in a beautiful hotel in a great location, friendly and helpful staff and a wonderful gym and swimming pool. I was disappointed with the bar prices, we paid £6 for a tiny bowl of mixed nuts, £10 a pint and £8 for a small glass of wine. It was a treat for us both and overall we enjoyed our stay and met with family who live locally. Thank you! "

"Very convenient for where we wanted to be"

"Initially allocated a rather drab room with badly stained/damaged carpet - unacceptable as the hotel was not fully booked. On contacting reception about this, we were kindly moved to a much nicer room with a park view. Enjoyed the underfloor heating in the bathroom, quality bedding and windows that you can open to let in fresh air. Missed having a bathtub as most rooms only have a shower. Cleaning could be improved as the chaise was stained - rather off-putting. Overall a nice stay in beautiful...

"The (twin double) room on the third floor had a lovely view across the river and Jesus Green beyond. Decor in good condition but, as photos show, dated in style."
