Our second visit to Strathcashel cottage.
Our second visit to Strathcashel cottage. Very relaxing and peaceful. Morning walks around the loch. Access to West Highland Way at end of drive. Cashel Forest opposite the end of drive has lots of walks, easy or strenuous, and great views. Balmaha has free parking, hard walking up Conic Hill or relaxing walks around loch and in Millennium Forest. Local shop is well stocked. St Mocha coffee shop has great cakes and ice-cream. Balloch has the tourist information, loch cruises and a country park (the 1st in Scotland). Has a big co-op for shopping. Cottage has WiFi but it's not great, but that adds to remote, peaceful location. Very dog friendly. Love it! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We loved our time at Strathcashel.
We loved our time at Strathcashel. Turned our phones off, didn't watch TV and just enjoyed being where we were. The scenery was breath taking. I can't really comment on local amenities as we didn't leave the cottage area despite walking every day. The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. Waking up to the view over the loch every morning was amazing. So much more than we expected. The track up to the cottage is a little bumpy but if you take it slow, it's not a problem. Lovely thoughtful items left by the owners to welcome us - just those nice personal touches that make your stay even more special. Can't wait to get back there! Beautiful cottage in a lovely location.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. It was raining heavily so the road and beach were a bit flooded but we managed to get there. We had a wonderful time there. The cottage is the best equipped place I have ever stayed. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A fantastic cottage in the most beautiful setting.
A fantastic cottage in the most beautiful setting. Very stylish furnishings and very clean with everything you need for a comfortable family trip. The welcome pack was so generous. Really comfortable sofa and beds, and great showers. So rare to find somewhere where the garden is enclosed (when you close the track gate) so the dogs can roam free. The track getting there wasn’t as bad as previous reviewers had said - just take it slow. We were unlucky enough to have constant rain but could imagine how beautiful it would be in sunny months as that’s a seriously gorgeous view of the loch. There’s a lovely walk in the woods that starts on the main road. We hope to come back. Thank you for the loan of your wonderful cottage. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Had a great weekend at this lovely cottage.
Had a great weekend at this lovely cottage. Best equipped self catering unit we've ever been to, the owners have thought of absolutely everything! From the tranquil surroundings to the stunning views over Loch Lomond, it was just perfect - we didn't want to come home! The welcome package was also very much appreciated. We would recommend this little piece of paradise to anyone looking for a relaxing "get away from it all". What more can we say?! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

An idyllic retreat that was a home away from home.
An idyllic retreat that was a home away from home. Everything you'll ever want from a getaway from it all break. Views are unbelievable and the silence is deafening. A week isn't long enough and only wish we'd booked for 2 or 3. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

I can't recommend this cottage highly enough.
I can't recommend this cottage highly enough. It is quirky, isolated, down a long drive,on the shores of Loch Lomond and comes with its own beach! The views from the masterbedroom and the sunroom are stunning. Uninterrupted and unparalleled views across the Loch to the mountains beyond.West Highland Way passes across the drive and ASDA will deliver! Be warned-the toilets block easily-its on a septic tank-but this was a very minor issue compared to the privilege of staying in this very special place.Enjoy! We loved our family holiday.
We loved our family holiday. Everything we needed at the cottages, even board games and dvds for the kids. Spacious, cosy and very clean. Excellent location on the loch, we even took the canoe out to have a try. The scenery is amazing, it’s so tranquil and quiet. We loved it that much we have already booked to come back next year. A great cottage with fantastic views.
A great cottage with fantastic views. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you would need. The private field was great for the dogs, although they always headed straight for the Loch. People have mentioned the pot holes a lot. We had a quite low Astra and if you take it slowly, it is not a problem. Great walks north and south on the West Highland way. Conic Hill is a nice walk and there are local forest walks in Cashel Forest over the road. Ben Lomand is also very close within a short drive. Drymen is best for shopping supplies and the Drymen Inn does good food and welcomes dogs. Will return again although disappointed that the corresponding week next summer is over £400 more than this summer. Will need to return outside of peak season. Wow!! What an amazing hidden gem.
Wow!! What an amazing hidden gem. If you’re looking for a 5* luxurious place to stay then I would say that this is probably not the place for you but if you’re looking for somewhere special which is away from the hustle and bustle with absolutely stunning views and a magic about it where you totally relax then Strathcashel cottage is perfect. The master bedroom was so comfortable, I haven’t slept so well in ages, the lounge was cosy for us all to enjoy watching tv in the evenings and absolutely loved eating my breakfast in the sunroom taking in the view of the loch. My son loved the rope swing on the beach, we went out on our inflatable kayak in the loch and even had a little swim. Our dog loved the freedom of running around large garden and all of the stunning places close by to visit. If you don’t mind a fairly intense walk then I would definitely recommend walking up Ben Lomond, it took us about 5hrs in total but was worth if for the stunning views. This was our first visit to Scotland and it won’t be our last, if we are back in Loch Lomond then we will definitely stay in Strathcashel cottage again. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet and the views.
We absolutely loved the peace and quiet and the views. The house is extremely well provided, not only with everything you could want in the kitchen, but also games, books etc. But the best thing is the view and the direct access to the loch. It was only slightly marred by the extremely pitted track which is difficult to drive along, and a few niggles about the house such as the lack of a clothes airer for damp clothes (although there is a tumble drier) - I felt sure there must be one, but I never found it! But overall it was a great house to stay in. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

What a fantastic place, We love this cottage, such a little gem and well worth driving down the rough track to get there. The cottage is just perfect, the grounds are beautiful and so relaxing but then you also have a short walk to such a breathtaking pebble beach on the Loch. We would stay here over and over again and never get bored of the place, The family who own the cottage made you feel very welcome with a little note and a few bits for you to get going. We just loved our break here. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Booked this for a week in June - visited the area several times and stayed in a couple of different cottages. However, this one tops the lot. To start with the views were fantastic - 1 minute walk from the beach which while it's technically public is totally inaccessible to anything other than a boat or from the cottage. The rooms were generously proportioned, and the snug next to the master bedroom was where we spent most of our evenings enjoying the views over the west coast of the loch. The drive is potholed, yes, however if taken slowly it's absolutely fine and only a couple of minutes - we managed this in an audi and seat which have fairly firm suspension with no issue. We were welcomed by all the essentials, milk, fresh bread and a fantastically equipped kitchen. There were spares for anything we might have needed in the boot room. All the beds were comfortable for 6 adults, the bathrooms were immaculate and the showers powerful and hot at any time of the day. and the board games provided meant we never even used the TV. Balmaha and the oak tree inn is a 3 mile stroll along the west highland way with further stunning surroundings. We had a fantastic week, we still made it across to Edinburgh in a day which demonstrates while the cottage is fairly remote it is still easy to explore a large part of Scotland without driving for too long. We're so impressed with the cottage we've been home less than 24 hours and booked for next year! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
