Check-in shambolic, beautiful apartment
After a 6 hour journey we arrived at the Capital Zimbali but main reception staff denied knowing about the apartment. We discovered the apartment is let by a private host and the hotel are fully aware of this. The reception could not have been any more unhelpful. A security guard kindly escorted us to the Welcome Centre, where a gentleman telephoned the main hotel and patiently explained that we were trying to book into the suite. By now, it had been almost 2 hours since we arrived at the resort. We had tried to call the host but struggled as we had no WIFI and were calling international....it was a complete shambles.
We eventually got back to the main hotel, where we found that the host had tried to leave a key with the main reception.....but they refused to hold it. As a result, we were left wandering the resort for 2 hours and the host had to come out of hours to drop a key off (which she had tried to do earlier in the day). This could have all been avoided.
The apartment itself was beautiful, with everything we needed. A lovely balcony area, large bathroom and comfortable, large bed. Now that I understand how this works, I would definitely recommend the apartment.
You are given codes to get in and out of the resort.....the resort felt safe and the area around was excellent, with beaches, shops, restaurants and bars.
