"This is a beautiful hotel, with charming, attentive staff. The room ( river facing with balcony)was very clean, extremely comfortable beds with a turn down service in the evening. The bathroom was large, great shower and Jo Malone toiletries. Service in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent, every time. It's about a 40 minute walk into Porto which is pleasant on a sunny day and mainly flat. The hotel provides a free taxi boat service to Porto which is a lovely way to travel into town. The Spa is very nice and although a little expensive ,the treatments were given by very experienced therapists and were worth the cost. My only small criticism is the Europop style music broadcast in the afternoons through the evening to the outside pool /sitting area. We found it a little loud and irritating especially as nobody was sitting outside. We preferred the quiet and natural sound of the birds and river. , "

"The view of the Duoro River from all of the rooms and the lovely outdoor space was outstanding. The walking trail alongside the river was easily accessible. I wished we had a longer stay at this wonderful location."

"The hotel is beautiful and very peaceful. It is located outside of Porto and it’s quite a distance to walk into the city. However, the hotel does operate a free shuttle bus once a day, but book a slot early as it tends to fill up. Alternatively, you can get an Uber for about 6 Euros into the town. The breakfast selection is very good and the food in the restaurant was of a really high standard. "

"This is a very nice, modern, boutique hotel. The rooms are on the small side but their utilization of the space is excellent. The staff are incredibly helpful and the included breakfast is quite good. Excellent location in Amarante. Right on the river and next to the historic district. "

"Great for a short term stay. Beautiful building in a lovely historic town (small cafes, restaurants, historic sights, etc.). Offsite owners who were responsive and provided clear guidelines on how to access the property."
