There was also a swimming pool with a patio to the rear of the building however this was never used, weather was only sunny and hot on the day of our arrival but the pool was dirty. "We had to walk from train station to hotel with luggage in tow. Reception was closed but the were very accommodating. Rooms were equipped with everything we needed. Thank goodness the weather cooled down because there is no AC. Positives-Hotel arranged transportation back to train station, stored bags and lended us an umbrella. Also the dining room and courtyard looked quaint. Not so positive- the bedding was not comfortable."

The intercom to reach the out of hours porter was behind a half closed shutter which I had to crawl under to reach the intercom. Even then, the staff answered but didn't come to open the door. "We had a great time at Pierre's lovely converted barn in Sonac. The kitchen area was excellent - very well equipped, which made it easy to cater for nine people. The pool area was absolutely perfect and a hit with everyone. The huge garden was well used by all, both of our dogs and the children. The rooms also comfortably accommodated everyone. Pierre was an excellent host who made us very welcome. We'd love to return."
