"Check in was a quick and easy. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. The room that we stayed in was beautiful. Very specious , comfortable and clean. Only negative was 2 single gins and tonic was quite pricey at just under £18"

"Beautiful and well-maintained townhouse located very close and within walking distance to the old town and many shops. We stayed in a large room facing the rooftops (nice and quiet) and we were very satisfied with the size and the furnishings. Nice selection of vinyl records that you can play in your room - every room has it’s own record player! Pantry is a big bonus as you have a lot of choice to choose from ranging from drinks to snacks and sweets. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the lovely note and complimentary chocolate as we celebrated our honeymoon during this stay! We enjoyed our first trip to York very much and will definitely be back. We absolutely recommend the No. 1 by Guesthouse in York for anyone visiting York! "
