"Red Bird Cottage is nestled in the small town of Athens, WV. Located not far from I-77 the location was ideal for visiting my son at Concord University. Basic businesses in Athens, Dollar General, Post Office, CVS and a park all within walking distance or a 5 minute drive. Eating establishments limited however Princeton,WV is a quick 15 minute drive. "“Paradise Cottage” was such a great stay for us in Hinton as we checked off another national park! It was spotlessly clean, easy to access, and so lovely to have basic/starter supplies made available on arrival (plus the lovely welcome basket!). We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the river and our daughter loved the geese!! The bedrooms were both very spacious and the beds comfortable; we slept so well! It was a short drive to both Sandstone Falls and the Sandstone visitor center and....

"The cabin was clean and had a gorgeous view of the river! The scent of the cabin was strong for my taste (woody? Candles? Not sure). There is not much to do in nearby areas but my goal was to stay near new river gorge park not to be in a place with lots to do, so this was perfect! Only downside is proximity to the train tracks. Train is very loud as it passes, but I would stay there again! I ran into the host’s son walking his dog as I was leaving because he lives nearby and he was so kind and...
