"Aside from one of the ground floor apts the accommodation was very clean, the location is very poor if you have children, one of the feral cats that freely roam the premises attacked the youngest of our party who was 2yrs old, this meant we couldn’t stay beyond the one night, we moved closer to town for the rest of our stay, the overall feeling was if you could pick up the Villa and drop it somewhere nicer it would be perfect"

The location was perfect to explore the area set in a quiet village, but only 5 minutes in the car to the beach or shops. "Lovely house with large garden and pool, in great central location for sightseeing. Plenty of seating/loungers in sun or shade. Air con, Wi-Fi, shower and BBQ all worked great. Didn’t do much cooking in kitchen but seemed to have most things - except for an ice tray! Good quality towels and bedding, shampoo and shower gel provided. Mid week clean/emptying of rubbish very much appreciated. Lots of mini markets nearby (driving) with bigger ones on the road into Rethymno. Great restaurant...

"We had the most incredible week at the villa. The owner was so friendly and informative about the area and was on hand to sort any issues that we had during our stay. Not that we really had any! The village was an unexpected gem. Very peaceful location with two fantastic restaurants to go to, within a couple of minutes walk. The icing on the cake was when they came and cleaned the villa half way through the week. Changed the sheets, everything. Such great service. You need a car to stay in...

"We are a family of 6 adults and our stay at Athena Villa was wonderful. The house is huge with plenty of spaces to be together or alone. Kitchen and amenities fabulous. The pool is beautiful and well maintained. We arrived to a wine fruit and local olive oil basket. Bedrooms and bathrooms all well appointed and very comfortable. The location is central to so many lovely places to visit and so many fabulous travenas. We had a super time staying at the property"
