"Our family of five (two adults and three kids) stayed at Hotel Geography for a week over Christmas for skiing. The hotel is pretty basic but rooms were clean, modern and handily had two bathrooms. The hotel is not ski-in / ski-out but offers a free shuttle to Marco Polo hotel in the mornings. Breakfast was basic and could have been improved (ran out of milk one day, bread a bit stale, limited choice on everything) but definitely enough options to fill up on for a day of skiing. We spent more time at Marco Polo (apres ski, dinner, relaxing etc.) because our friends were staying there, which meant we didn’t spend much a huge amount of time at Geography other than for sleeping and breakfast. That said, Geography was incredibly well-priced and hence the value for money is impossible to beat if you want a cheap, no-frills hotel and plan to eat out in other places. Stray dogs were noisy at night (an issue in many of the hotels in Gudauri!) so take earplugs if you are a light sleeper."
