"Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very small for 6 people. It would have been nice to have a privacy curtain on each bed. Also we had to move one of the bunks to retrieve something that had fallen behind the bed and it was very dirty. Obviously they never clean between the beds and walls. The elevator worked about 50% of the time. Staff was helpful in making sure I could use it. The location was great. In Old town, very close to the tram and market. Very walkable area."

"The shower place had some bugs so I wasn’t happy about it but still it is worth the price and the staff were really friendly. I would definitely go again when I visit Bilbao."

"I liked how easily accessible the property was and how the staff were very well versed in tourist attractions and the like. I was helped by Marta when I checked in and she gave me a map with all the places I’d need to go to or tourist and food spots circled in which was very helpful, as well as the transportation links around the city. I just wish there were more options especially with protein at breakfast. It was all pretty much just toast and baked good but some eggs and maybe some sausages...

"Overall great stay - would definitely stay again The reception staff were so helpful and friendly - gave great advice on which beaches to go to and how to access them The accommodation is literally on top of the main interchange so unrivalled in terms of transport links - we got the bus to San Sebastián The room was fab with fridge, sink etc Some of the sheets were stained which is my only criticism but don’t let that out you off - I’m sure they would have given me fresh ones if I had...

"Most of the lockers were broken and you could not truly secure your belongings while you were out. The beds were not comfortable and the very limited electric receptacles were inconveniently located and ususlly being used; several of the secure charging lockers were out of order. The location is great, just across the river from the Guggenheim and reasonably walkable to other sights."

"The mattresses old, uncontrollable, tiny so you feel the springs on your back, overprice facility, very small bathroom with a dirty and so small shower even you move to water yourself. A big person even cannot fit on that shower. Really only good is the location."

"The facilities were much more satisfactory than I expected. I was also satisfied with the elevator, kitchen, and view. However, the bedding smelled like it was not dry and the pillow smelled, so I put on the cover I brought and slept. The pillow cover was fine, but the pillow itself should be washed in hot water or replaced with a new one. Room number 3612"

"The staff allways provided help the were very nice; metro station is 2 blocks away from the hostel. The general area needs a bit of maintenance, the couches are in bad shape. Pillows need to be replaced very soon , they are dirty and not comfortable."

"This was a highly functional suite with 2 TV’s, European refrigerator, dishwasher, pots, dishes, cooktop, etc. the grocery store is<2 blocks away. Front desk is not staffed 7x24, but they ordered us a cab for non-staffed hours, and it arrived right on time. Very neat and clean. Trendy contemporary decor. We would go there again. "We spent a week in the newly opened Axel Hotel in Bilbao. Our choice turned out to be perfect in every possible way. The staff in every area is outstanding, friendly, smiling, accommodating from the Reception to kitchen/bar staff, housekeeping. It is hard to name all but wanted to thank Luz for her big smile and attentiveness each morning during breakfast. She picked up on my husband’s birthday and the hotel arranged a birthday greeting and a gift that was left in our room. The breakfast is a treat. The room is spacious and well equipped. The bathroom with rain shower is a delight and separate WC is ideal. The king bed was very comfortable. The location is ideal, as located close to public transport, walkable to nearly everything, and on the river Nervion. Behind the hotel is Abando with the museums and across the bridge is Casco Viejo (old town). A wonderful location. "

Excellent location and service. Highly recommended

"Very nice room. It was spacious with plenty of room to unpack and not feel cramped. It was a suite (Room 225) with a sitting area, bedroom and bathroom. It was perfect for our stay of a couple days. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The hotel had everything that we could have wanted. We arrived rather early and we were lucky enough to be able to check in right away. This was amazing after a long day of travel to get to Bilboa. Friendly staff, spacious room and great service. We found it very easy to walk throughout the city to the attractions so the location was great as well. I would happily stay again. "
