"We stayed for 2 nights. On arrival, the reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We went to our room which was a king-size sea view. The view is even better than any picture will have you believe. Breathtaking. Loved having a little balcony with comfortable chairs and just enjoying the view and silence. The room was spotless. On the 2nd day, the cleaners chapped the door and asked if we wanted anything cleaned or if any of the tea/coffee/teacakes needed replenished. This was a nice thing to do. The bed was massive and comfortable. The bedding itself was a great quality. The shower was always hot and a good power too. Great shampoos etc in the room to try. The grounds are well cared for and we enjoyed walks by the highland cows and down to the seafront. The meals were all great. Portions are huge. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was one of the best i’ve ever had and locally sourced. Reception staff also gave some advice for a place to go a nice walk and we enjoyed a day out in Kilmartin as a result. Overall, I cannot say a bad word or complain about any detail. Superb all round and we’ll be back at the earliest opportunity. "

"We spent the New Year on Bute and the was in the perfect location not only for its views over the Firth, but also for exploring the rest of the island. It did feel a little chilly on arrival, but with the clear instructions we were soon able to get it feeling nice and warm. We had to extend our visit for another night as we didn't realise the ferries didn't run on Bank Holiday, but this was not a problem - for Campbell or for us!! Campbell was extremely helpful before and during our visit, so a big thank you!"

"Had a most enjoyable stay at The Old Cottage with wonderful hosts Karen and Darren. Really comfy double bed & great shower. Had the benefit of a gorgeous roaring fire in spacious lounge area at night with lots of DVDs and a library of books about stuff to explore in the local area. Darren and Karen were such lovely people, warm , friendly and gave helpful tips about the locality. Breakfast was fabulous, tasty and varied. Would highly recommend this B&B and will definitely be back. Many thanks to Darren and Karen for an amazing break. "
