"Beautiful surroundings, tucked away on the Lakeside as the name suggests. Nice quiet and peaceful. A little bit of a walk into the centre (15-20 minutes), but also possible to wave down a tuk tuk once you get to the main road (about 150 SL rupees to the clocktower). The rooms were big and clean. I'm a solo traveller, but was given a room that had two double beds, aircon and a ceiling fan. The shower was hot during the day, more by accident than design. "This property offered value for money - it was cheap. In its heyday, it must have been a very nice hotel but maintenance has fallen behind over the years. The common areas are fine but the rooms and exterior/grounds are very tired and badly need to be updated. Perhaps the owners can't afford it - there were only 4 guests booked in on the night we stayed."
