Wonderful stay and perfect location. The host was wonderful and very responsive! Two bedrooms on the top floor and one with twin beds. Spacious living room. In the heart of it all.

Amsterdam Getaway
Great location, clean, and in a safe neighborhood. The photos in the description should give you a good feel for the property. The stairs are a bit steep, but we expected that. The beds are firm and comfortable. Highly recommended for both adults and families. If you want to be on the canals and within walking distance of the city center, this place is for you.

Perfect place for a long weekend in Amsterdam
Our family (2 adults and 2 kids- 8yr and 12yrs) visited Amsterdam for a long weekend and had the good fortune of staying at this beautiful house. Immediately off the canal and centrally located- this place was a perfect home base as we explored Amsterdam. The house was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Anna and Wytse were clear with all communication and provided some helpful information about airport transfers, local restaurants, shops, etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the city.

Great VRBO. We had everything we needed. The rack of maps and guidebooks helped a lot. Lots of local construction work in early AM made sleep a bit difficult. Location was perfect, able to walk to all museums and attractions. Overall we loved staying there.

Great apartment, Great area!
From the moment I booked the apartment until I left both Wyste and Ania answered questions very quickly and were so attentive. It is in what I consider the best part of Amsterdam to stay right along one of the beautiful canals. My son is living in the city so I will definitely be back!

Charming Amsterdam Apartment
We loved the location of this apartment. It was charming and spacious for a family of four. The stairs are tricky to navigate but we got used to them fairly quickly. Anna was very friendly and helpful with our check in. We really enjoyed our stay.

Trip to Amsterdam
We really enjoyed our time in Amsterdam. This apartment is in a perfect location near everything to do. Within a short walk of the main train station, shops and many restaurants. Very nice amenities and in a nice neighborhood. Our host was great to work with and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again and come back and spend more time in Amsterdam.

Wonderful Stay
The location could not be better to explore the city - with great frites up the road and a supermarket close by. Nine streets area is charming and authentic. The apartment is tastefully decorated and having two floors gave ample space and comfort. The canal and bridge views from the windows were a highlight. The host and property manager were excellent with communication and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

From location, to host welcome, to the historical residence…this place has it all. We would enjoy excursions then come back to the apartment and sit by the window and look out over the canal and bridge, and watch the world happen…incredible!! We felt very safe in this area too.

Absolutely incredible experience. The house is over 400 years old with all the amenities of a current modern home. The renovations that have been done are beautiful and maintain the feel of historic homes. And the location of the house is perfectly located for walking basically anywhere. Classic Amsterdam canal residence - and central to literally everything. It may be the perfect location. Our experiences with the host(s) was incredible, truly above and beyond what we might have expected. Super flexible, super responsive, hospitable, and helpful. We ran into some personal issues the night before check-out and Anna literally came to our rescue. So sweet and helpful. We left so appreciative.

Charming Apartment in 400-year-old House
The Sonnenberg is a beautiful, centrally located home on Herengracht, arguably the most elegant street in Amsterdam. The apartment was perfect for my 20-something niece and nephew, along with myself. Two bedrooms on the top floor, one with a queen bed and the other with two twins, joined together by a Jack and Jill bathroom/shower. There is a tiny powder room on the landing by the living room and dining room. The spiral stairs are VERY steep and narrow! You need to be in good shape to walk up the two flights of stairs to get to the bedrooms. Bottom line, it is a wonderful apartment, in a fabulous location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Terrific home! Right on the most photographed beautiful canal in the heart of Amsterdam. The top 2 floors of a canal home. Nicely remodeled and updated. Host was welcoming, the home was ready for us, and she held our luggage after check out! Very quiet for such a central location.

What an adorable property in the perfect location. The spiral stairs are steep but we thought it was part of the charm. Wytse was a great host and the kitchen area was as well appointed as he could have made it. We loved it.

Clean and perfect location
Perfectly located in the 9 streets. Clean and tidy, looks just like the photos. Easy communication and help from house manager. No real kitchen but we didn’t need one. Shower is a little short for tall people. Steep steps inside - but this is true of most houses in this area.
