I arrived early but could not get into my room until about 1 p.m. but they did keep my bags and helped me with directions to nearest restaurants etc. My room was adequate, small, but in Holland most are and I was pleased with the clean bed and clean bathroom, adequate hot water and the heating could be adjusted.
Cable tv and I had wifi which reached my room on the second floor. I do not think that wifi can be got on higher floors.
Sumptuous plentiful buffet breakfast which was a plus and very welcome and for the money I paid I cannot complain. Also the breakfast is supposed to be served later at the weekend but the person in charge went out of his way to make it earlier the Sunday morning I had to leave early.
The overall feel in the elevator and the corridor left much to be desired, as I found the carpets worn and not too recently cleaned.
I liked the fact that I could walk to the Van Gogh or Rijksmuseum in the Museum Plein (square), or jump on a 172 tram, nearby and be taken to Central Station where they have the hub of the canal cruises. It is within walking distance of Volond Park.
I was happy enough with the attention it was adequate in the Reception.
