"We stayed for only one night and this place was perfect as a stopover before taking the fast boat to Lombok. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the property was clean and tidy. As a bonus we had a meal the evening before we arrived and I had a “ monster burger” which you could tell was cooked with care and delicious. All that and breakfast thrown in ! Difficult to beat for the price and highly recommended."

Staff seemed a little disorganised (I wasn’t advised that my stay included breakfast until the last night) and the room I received was not the one booked. "Summary We'd recommend the Bamboo house for one night specifically to the do the hike only. Go for the cheapest room. We booked two nights at the bamboo house, via Hotels.com, with the idea of hiking Mount Batur. Presumably like many other people visiting the area. We booked the king size deluxe room, the one with the triangular bamboo ceiling/roof, which was twice the price of a standard room. When we arrived we were shown to a standard room. "This home stay is great value for money. You can sleep somewhere and even get breakfast if you need to stay somewhwere overnight waiting for boats for Gilies or so. You have to be on budget and to love this kind of culture in order to appreciate bathroom and lack of air in the room. On the positive side, it will be hard to get this kind of value for the money you paid. It is in central location, has beautifull terase and very friendly and pleasent host. "

"Blu guesthouse is a delightful bungalow far from the maddening crowd. It is charming, clean property at the edge of Amed and amongst very friendly villagers.
