"This was a fantastic hotel and we would definitely come back! Location could not be better, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and well kept up, and it has everything you need whether you’re staying in or going out exploring. Pros: - We were fresh off a red eye flight and were given a free room upgrade and early check in! - Location is super easy to access from the main highways but is still just a 5 minute walk from the center of Ribeira Grande. - Central location means you’re close to Ponta Delgada and it’s still easy to get to both sides of the island. - Staff are friendly and helpful. - Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and modern. - Shower water pressure is fantastic. - Free breakfast is a nice addition and has many options. - Great gym for a hotel, pools and sauna are fantastic. - Bed is comfortable (if you like a firm mattress). - Easy and ample parking Cons: - Food at breakfast is generally room temperature. - Rooms are not super sound proof. - Limited restaurant options in the immediate area and the hotel’s restaurant is expensive."

"We were a group of 4 senior adults and were looking for a quiet, comfortable location to end our Portugal trip. This spot was perfect! From the host guiding us in by phone when we got turned around, to the pleasant housekeeper who met us at the property to check in to the spectacular views of the ocean and perfectly stocked home, our stay could not have been better. With 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms plus generous sized living and dining areas (including a cool outdoor kitchen), there was plenty of room for us to be very comfortable. Porto Formosa is a tiny village so if you are looking for nightlife this is not the spot for you. We cooked for ourselves here and had everything we needed with groceries just a short 15 minute car ride away. We found this to be a good central location to explore the island from as well. You can easily walk down to the public beach (coming back up is a great workout!) and there is access to public trails close by. We cannot recommend this property enough! 5 stars!"
