"Very clean, comfortable room close to train station with many restaurants and a small but great grocery store nearby. Check in was at Hotel Stelvia a short walk into Tirano, the owner kindly drove me back after! Terrific service. Room was spotlessly clean and well equipped, good sized bathroom (a bit of a treat!), nice amenities and good Frette towels and sheets. Corte Rossa has a fun, alpine ski condo feel! Tirano is a lovely little town with much to do, I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 days there before getting on the Bernina Express to Chur. Highly recommend! "

"Hotel Centrale is a jewel hotel. The staff at reception, Giovanni and Irena, were friendly and helpful and it showed that they really care about their guests having a great stay. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the washroom was very clean. They served a very good breakfast.The location was within walking distance of the train station and excellent restaurants. It was a good starting point for walks around the beautiful city. We would highly recommend this hotel."

"B&B Ca' Viro was a truly great find. We arrived by bus (from Sondrio train station) which dropped us right outside the front door - all for the measly sum of €2 each. Our room was wonderful and better than expected. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was excellent. The grounds are a sight to see and our room was only 50 metres from a path along the river which provided some great walks. Breakfast the nect morning was amazing!! So much choice and all was wonderful. When it was time to leave, we noted that a bus was not due for quite some time, so we are asked Roberto, the manager, to call us a taxi to take us and our cases to Sondrio station. He said, "No need for a taxi - my wife is going shopping and she will drop you at the station". Not only did she drop us at the station, but it turns out she did so on her birthday!!. We cannot recommend this fabulous gem enough: the hotel and its facilities were first class and Roberto and his wife were friendly, attentive hosts who went way beyond what was expected. "The design suites are a short walk from the main hotel but the advantage is they are larger rooms. Each one has a theme - ours was Egyptian. It wasn’t “over done”, just enough to make it interesting. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. We would stay again. "
