Disappointing Stay at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya I recently returned from a week at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. While I was looking forward to a relaxing and enjoyable trip, several aspects of my stay fell short of expectations. Location Misrepresentation: The resort is not near Tulum, as advertised. The cost of transportation to downtown Tulum was prohibitive, with a $150 taxi ride for a round trip. Room Issues: My room had multiple maintenance problems that were NEVER resolved during my stay. The air conditioning was non-functional for two days, and despite reporting the issue, it was not addressed satisfactorily. The television and a key light in the room remained broken the entire week. Additionally, the shower was in an unacceptable condition—nearly disgusting. Dining Challenges: Getting dinner reservations was nearly impossible. Despite trying multiple times, we were left with limited options and unable to experience the resort's advertised dining amenities. Service/Staff: While the staff was polite, they seemed overworked and indifferent. Check-in was delayed significantly, which set the tone for a poor start to the trip. General Experience: The resort felt understaffed and poorly managed. Despite its reputation, the property did not deliver the quality or service expected for the price. It was like a bait and switch. Will not return.

The place has potential but I wouldn’t stay again the staff is not enough and our concierge was helpful within his means but communication between staff is bad and management is bad; reservations for the restaurant are very limited and most days you eat at the buffet; location is great nature is beautiful if you want a jungle feel and look it’s beautiful but the rooms condition ruins the whole experience; expect humidity on a different level and the mold smell is overwhelming bad as soon as you enter the room. Like I said use your judgment when booking this place personally I wouldn’t ever stay here again.

Me gustó la cantidad de restaurantes y bares que ofrece el Hotel. No me gustó la poca disponibilidad de shuttle para trasladarse de un lugar a otro en la propiedad, el Hotel es muy grande y hay que caminar mucho para ir a diferentes sitios dentro de la propiedad. No me gustó que el gimnasio tenga aire acondicionado, es un lugar para calentar y entrenar, el AC es innecesario.

I would definitely come here again. Food, drinks, & pools all exceeded my expectations. I’d never heard of this place & knew no one who’d visited before. So I was blown away by how well everything was done. The grounds were perfectly manicured. Nothing looked forgotten about. Every square foot had a purpose, even the natural areas. Whoever manages this property has done a magnificent job. Also, find Hugo for some impressive drink selections!

We wasn’t made aware from Expedia that there was construction going on. I looked on the Grand Sirenis Facebook group and could see some was going on and also emailed the hotel and all told us this wouldn’t have any impact on our stay, Wrong we arrived the room was a building site. No lights or sockets in most of the room, 1 light in the bathroom which was flooded and unsafe to use, we asked to change rooms but were told no other rooms available or ready, after 4hrs we’re told another room was being cleaned. This was 2am. I went to check the room. Rubbish in the wardrobe and turned the tap on and the room again flooded no waste on the sink. After a long 25hrs journey we went to bed putting towels on the floor. After a lot of back fore to reception losing 2 days of holiday we got a room change. But the whole resort was being renovated and wasn’t nice to see, noise dust and smells were awful. Too more more to write here but will be contacting Expedia and also our credit card company as this hotel should not have been sold as acceptable.

The beach and wildlife were lovely, and all the service staff were wonderful. Our room was very tired with stains on the headboard, broken lampshade and a big gap between the patio doors and the wall. Also the air conditioning wasn’t working properly, despite many requests made to get it looked at. One night was so hot we couldn’t sleep at all. Also we couldn’t book restaurants, the system only booked for 1 adult, so we queued outside restaurants for 2 nights and thanks to the amazing Edgar, we got 2 a la carte meals! Buffet lunch and breakfast at Puerto Lindito were good, but the buffet evening meal at The Park was very limited and had very few vegetarian options for me. Our biggest issue was with how much they charged us to add 2 children to our room for 4 nights. I made a mistake with booking and only had 2 adults in the room but they charged £1900 extra for the children for 4 nights which was absolutely not worth it. We only paid £1100 for 2 adults through Expedia. The 4 night stay was not worth the £3000 we paid.

This resort was very modern-looking but unfortunately there were too many issues and inconveniences that were mishandled. Since the very first day I checked in, they said there were no open reservations for ANY of their 8 restaurants. After sitting down with the manager Alex for about an hour, he was able to accommodate us at 1 of their restaurants that same night. Imagine my surprise when all the restaurant tables are half empty. There was more than enough room in the restaurant they just didn’t have any staff, there are only two waiters serving in the entire restaurant, no matter which one. You can see them running around with sweat dripping off their face trying to get to everyone in a timely manner. EVERYONE was complaining about the same thing, no reservations for anyone is crazy for how much money you spend to stay here. There’s only 1 buffet available and the food is not good, there are very few okay tasting options. Not to mention, the AC started leaking huge puddles of water running down from the walls onto the floor. I asked for help and towels to dry it with 4/5 different times, NO ONE CAME, each time they said a technician and towels would be on their way, no one ever came, I personally saw the technician in the building and basically begged for him to come fix it. Only then did the problem get solved. On the 3rd day of our stay, we ate at a restaurant without a reservation only because my father bribed the restaurant captain with $50.

The hotel is decent. It is under construction, but that doesn’t account for all the trash in the landscaping. The hotel really needs to work on the A La Carte system. I was able to book one restaurant over 4 days. Know that it takes almost 12 hours upon checking in before you can access the app to even attempt to get a reservation. The concierge couldn’t even assist because we were not in the system. When you go by the restaurants, they are mostly empty. Also its apparent for the size of the property they are under staffed. I called to get an extra blanket, and the front desk picked up, and hung up the receiver twice. Getting a server poolside is roughly a 45 minute wait. There is a period of time between 11am and 1230 that you are unable to get food almost anywhere on property, except by the pool. Usually very generous tipping can overcome some of these obstacles, but unfortunately that was not the case at this establishment. None of this was horrible, but combined it definitely diminishes the experience.

This hotel has beautiful grounds, pools and great beaches. The restaurants were pretty decent for an all inclusive. And the people there were nice. However, there were a lot of things that need to be improved and if the hotel was run properly, it could be a great resort. 1. Our hotel room - the bathroom door was removed. Our door handle to the balcony was broken. 2. Management - the hotel is so poorly managed. 3. check in - it takes at least an hour. they have 3 desks to check in and each check in takes for ever 4. communications - terrible. And every staff members knowledge contradicts the other. 5. construction- they did not inform us the hotel was under construction. Half the bathrooms weren’t open. The teen club wasn’t open, etc. The pool bar wasn’t open. 6. towels - three days, no towels. 7. Do not use the hotel recommended shuttle from the airport- completely incompetent. With room renovations and proper management- this hotel could be great but until then, very mixed.

The staff is friendly and try their best to help. They were going through remodeling and took two hours to get our unfinished room. The room did not have a tv setup, electrical cables were exposed, the fan was not working, no phone in the room.

The customer service and hospitality at the buffet and restaurants were excellent at this resort. They were all so kind and accommodating with my girlfriend’s gluten allergy. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. The dinner buffet was decent but nothing to write home about. However, you have the option to book a dinner reservation at one of the restaurants. The restaurant food was absolutely fantastic. As for the amenities, there were three pools (one of them with a swim up bar). But I spent most of my time snorkelling at the beach. You can borrow a snorkel free for one hour and for a whole day for $15USD. The hotel room was clean for the most part. However, the bathtub was quite dirty. We requested the front desk to clean the bath tub and they told me that they will inform housekeeping. Our bathtub was still gross the next day. I guess they didn’t inform housekeeping at all. The front desk could’ve been better. Other than that, this resort was overall great. I highly recommend to everyone.

Dolphin Show a mat see.Great Resteraunt’s . Tough booking Resteraunt’s.do to renovations. Slow booking in 1st day . We were lucky to get a great room not a partially renovated one like others that we met.Did walk in 2 times and worked out great.Amazing lush landscaping with wild animals. Will recommend and return to this resort. We purchased a few ULC weeks .
