The main part of this property is nice and well maintained, but the rooms need massive updates. Our room was hot, smelled musty, the dehumidifier they have in the rooms shut off and leak water all over the floor. Called the front desk multiple times and couldn't get anyone to come to the room to clean it up. Our tv was broken and not working when we arrived as well. There was black mold in the bathroom. We saw bugs a few times and had to kill them. You also can't get into all the restaurants that are advertised for this property. Some of them are shut down or you don't get access too. We were only able to get dinner reservations 2 nights and had to eat the buffet the rest of the time. Buffet gets old after a few meals there.

We were at the grand Tulum for 10 days, we had booked an oceanfront superior premium room and were taken to a very small shoebox size room, you could see the ocean, but the room was overlooking the pool, so it definitely was not oceanfront that we paid for. When we arrived in the room the shower did not work the locks on the balcony doors did not work. The secondary lock on our main door did not work. The phone did not work . There was a small blanket on each bed . We had a very small balcony with two small plastic chairs and a small plastic table. In any oceanfront suites we have ever booked. There were always nice lounge chairs so that you can lay out on your balcony and look at the ocean otherwise there is just no point in paying all the extra money for oceanfront. we requested to be moved from this suite .They offered us another small suite overlooking the ocean, which really did not seem like any premium suite with oceanfront we had ever been to, and they also offered us another suite which had two bathrooms and was larger, however was not oceanfront, we opted for that suite and were asked to sign a downgrade which we did not understand. We moved into the new suite. There is not enough room to tell all. We are seasoned travellers & know what to expect . The food was less than mediocre, many times the platers were not replenished in the buffet & many times things just look like they had been recycled from lunch to dinner and onto breakfast.Extremely disappointed

Friendly staff, grounds well kept, great food/drinks, all the animals were wonderful to see, rooms are clean, but the beds were horribly hard. It's not a problem for some, but for us, it was an issue. Pools clean, beach nice, ocean was rough, but if you walk a bit down you find little coves that are calm with lots of fish and you can use the other hotels beaches.

The resorts excels in some areas but lacks in others. The stars of this place are their employees. Friendly and helpful in every possible way. They made the trip memorable. The swimming pools were great. Always something fun to do. The coastal water were great as well. The resort keeps the beach and and clean. If you're traveling with your children, they'll be in heaven. Decidated facilities just for the little ones. Wonderful. My two biggest complaints were their food, and the rooms which our party stayed in. The buffet selection is vast, but disappoints in flavor. The meats were very chewy and flavorless. Other selections were so salty, we simply couldn't eat them. The sushi was room temperature, which made it unpleasant to eat. Same with the deli meats. It was simply too hot in that particular section. The Ala Carte restaurants were good, but if you don't book 10 days prior to arrival, you'll likely get stuck with one or two options, often at late times of the night. Ours ended up being around 8:30 and 9pm. Moving on to our room. They were spacious. Great views of this wonderful property. My big disappointment was the unbearable smell of mildew/mold. Whenever the air conditioning was turned on, the room was filled with this nearly suffocating smell. For the remainder of my stay, I kept the balcony door open 24/7 to keep the fresh air flowing. Since returning home, I've washed my clothes twice, and the smell of mildew is still quite present.

Lovely resort! Visited for a week in Jan. with our kids (21, 19, 15) and enjoyed our stay. We did two rooms to better accommodate and give space and that worked well for us. We did junior suites. One room the air conditioning was plenty cold and comfortable and the other was a bit warm and humid feeling but still fine for sleeping in and that's all we did in the rooms. We probably could have asked for maintenance but didn't feel it was that necessary. Rooms were clean and in great condition. Housekeeping was wonderful. A la carte restaurants (La Tortuga and Don Pablo) were superb. Buffet was good and we had plenty, the food temp could be hotter if I were to make a suggestion. Staff was amazing, super friendly and working hard always to make sure guests were well taken care of. Pools were huge, clean, and fun. Beach was gorgeous! The beach out in front of Tulum was quite breezy with a lot of wave action but that was fun for us. If you wanted to snorkel and calmer seas you could walk down and use the beach at Coba and we did that as well and saw lots of cool fish. We had a wonderful stay and recommend!

I am truly disappointed in the lack of staff service and dinning accommodation. To have a dinner the staff insisted we needed to buy a bottle of alcohol. My husband and I dont drink alcohol due to him being diabetic. We never got dinning accommodation and it was disappointing given the amount of money we paid.

WORST RESORT! STAY AWAY. We booked this resort based on the good reviews of the resort but our family holiday was a complete nightmare for 2 weeks. We were a group of 10 and experienced the worst stay. Terrible experience upon arrival, rude check in staff. It took over 2 hours to check in and switch rooms so my family and I can be on the same floor. Rooms are dirty, outdated, damp, mold all over the showers, water goes everywhere after you shower you have to constantly dry the floors, dust in the rooms. The food was so bad, one of our family member got food poisoning from eating the seafood. The food in the buffet is so bad they leave it out for so long. No entertainment on Christmas, Zero communication on the New Year’s party. It was such a shame to have spent the amount of money we paid for the poor service and quality. Also, another thing that was upsetting they had people painting in the balcony area without properly informing us. Once they were done they left the whole area dirty. The staff in the Brazilian restaurant extremely rude, my husband asked for a well done steak and the staff member replied with tomorrow, tomorrow and walked away very rude and not friendly we left the restaurant without eating.
