"Beautiful area right on a river with gorgeous mountains in the distance. The hotel restaurant was delicious as well and the staff were extremely kind. Just be aware that there is little to no public transit or even taxis in this area."

"View from our room was INSANELY BEAUTIFUL. From the balcony we saw mountains, nature, and water. And it was a quiet area. The restaurant downstairs was very very pretty and delicious. And the dessert looked like it was from a fancy 5 star restaurant. Short drive from lake como which is very beautiful and walkable. And there were parking spaces available in the front and back."

"We had a lovely stay in Binh’s property. She took every opportunity to make us feel welcome, answer our questions and ensure everything was as good as it could be. The property is in a lovely location and it’s well provided, although it took us a moment to realise the local church bells were actually a speaker!"

"Attentive host, Nicola, who was very helpful. Great communication before and during the stay. House is charming, rustic, clean and well-appointed. A few steep steps up to the front door, but great views of Lake Garlate from the garden. Stairs in the house and narrow and steep so caution for very young children. The main bedroom has a lovely terrace. The second bedroom just fits 2 single beds almost pushed together, so suitable for a couple or younger children. The pool area and play area were clean, spacious and well maintained and never too busy (we were there during the last week of July 2024). Pool and play area are only a 2 minute walk from the house. Parking is also a 2 minute walk away but up a hill (the area is generally quite hilly). The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, kettle and 2 electric hobs. Lots of great places to visit nearby - Lecco, Bellagio, Menaggio, Bellano (the caves), Jungle Raider Park at Civenna, the beach at Onno (great for swimming in the Lake). "Nice hotel, in a residential area so it does a great job of providing everything you could need. Lovely pool area with an onsite bar, changing rooms, lockers etc. great selection of healthy, fresh, tasty breakfast items. Restraint and bar was a little pricey for our tastes but menu looked perfect for gastro types :). Aircon in room seemed lacking, we did stay during peak summer but it felt like the room never got below 28°c"

"My family and extended family, a party of 10, booked Poggio Verde for 4 nights in June. Communication with Gretchen the year leading up to the stay was effective, quick, professional and friendly. I am not sure that I am able to properly express the glorious time we had with Gretchen, her family, and at the property. It was like arriving in a dream!!! The most beautiful and historical home. The property and grounds were very clean and well maintained. Its hosts were the epitome of hospitable and caring hosts. "The hotel is for sale and nobody had stayed there recently. He was quite surprised when we turned up. Restaurant shut and no where to eat within walking distance. Breakfast was 2 slices of cake and a coffee. Very expensive for what we got. "
