"Covelo-Original is exactly what a small guesthouse should be. Our stay was perfect. The Covelo is in the heart of old town and steps away from restaurants and just over the bridge is the religious centre. The room had everything needed (fridge, kettle, coffeemaker, all of which aren’t common in a POR room). "This is a beautiful, peaceful property. We enjoyed the huge rooms, gorgeous dining room, and decent gym. The spa consisted of a small sauna and steam room (which we could not open, and there was no one working there to open it). "Casa de Canilhas is a tucked away treasure in the heart of the Douro valley. A bit hard to find at first but once you're there it's worth a visit. There are no common indoor areas so you stay in your room or on a private terrace but can share the gorgeous outdoor pool. Breakfast is served to you in your room. Unfortunately, there was work being done in the building next to my casita: the noise and radio started at 8 AM which detracted from the peace and magic of the area"

"Our stay at Quinta da Ermida was overall fantastic. There were 5 of us staying in the 3-bedroom apartment, which was its own house with separate entry and private bathroom for each room. The view was gorgeous of the river and the train, and the property was beautiful to venture and take in the amazing views. "The property is beautiful and straddles the Douro River. The roads are not really walkable - narrow, no sidewalks. The breakfast was great. The restaurants lunch and dinner was mediocre. "The property has been in the family for four generations.It felt like we were staying in a part of history and privileged to be able to share their home. Home Away From Home

"We stayed with two couples for 14 days at this lovely house. Olga and Paulo were fabulous hosts and gave us countless of wonderful tips on what to do and where to eat. Communication was flawless. Check in was easy and Paulo greeted us with a bottle of wine and fresh pastry specific to the region. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. AC in the two master bedrooms, the LR, and the DR was appreciated. As a pleasant surprise we had a house cleaning and fresh bed sheets after one week. The garden is beautiful and outdoor furniture invite to lounge and hang out. The house is located on a small road, however the amount of traffic surprised us. Lidl in Amarante (10 min drive) was convenient and we fell in love with this beautiful town. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to explore the Douro Valley and Porto region. Thank you, Paula and Olga for having us."
