"We had a great time at the Mickleover. The hotel was well located near Derby with ample parking. What made our stay great was that everything in the room was working properly with a good level of upkeep. The staff were wonderfully engaging and took time to deal with us individually to give us that 5 star treatment."

"We had a lovely 2 night stay at Stone House Hotel in one of the garden rooms. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was modern, clean, and spacious, with a lovely big bath and nice toiletries to use (bath/shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, hand wash). Not necessarily negatives, but things to consider: Being in a garden room, we had patio doors out. It was lovely, however meant we didn't have a window to open when it was warm, and we didn't want to leave a door open overnight! Also, to access these rooms you had to go up stairs, and then back down, despite them being on the ground floor. I don't think there was any other access to them. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. We had dinner in the Indian restaurant one night, which was also very nice. Stone is a 20 minute walk away, and has some nice places to eat and walks along the canal. We would definitely stay again if in the area."

"We had an absolutely fabulous time at this hotel, super value for the money, the staff were really nice and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to watch Aston Villa. A taxi ride is 15 mins from the hotel to the stadium and cost £25."

"Great hotel, spotlessly clean and great room facilities such as tea tray, ironing board and iron in room. Hairdryer and lovely Crabtree & Evelyn bath products. Slight minus points were tv stations very limited, we did not venture out at night. Saw two guests and their children come down stairs for breakfast in their pyjamas..not hygienic and should have been stopped when guests were waiting to be seated for breakfast. Other than that, really enjoyed the two nights there whilst visiting my son at uni which is just a few miles from this hotel so convenient for me. Would definitely return there. "
