"Nice place to stay in the Black Forest region. Clean comfortable room. Check in was a small challenge due to language barrier, but quickly done. Restaurant food and service was great. There is no elevator to second floor in one building, so be prepared to carry your luggage up the set of stairs. The St Margen cloister museum nearby is a must see for any clock enthusiasts."

"Very difficult to get to with a private car since it is in a no traffic zone. Would recommend parking outside the no traffic zone with a small, hotel shuttle van."

"Hotel Hirschen Glottertal is a lovely hotel in a very quaint village. This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for a home base around many hiking trails and beautiful nature. The facilities and amenities are exceptional. It was a delight to explore the wonderful scenery and come back from a hike to a relaxing sauna session. The staff were accommodating and the breakfast and restaurant delightful. "

Lovely stay at a beautiful house

"The house was beautiful, very clean, and in great shape. It is literally on the mountain side. We went with two small children and my parents, and there was space for everyone. We cooked all our meals on site, and all the amenities worked well. The bedrooms were all comfortable. WIFI internet was recently added, which was very helpful. The location is really beautiful, and as described is pretty secluded. We did two of the nearby trails - very beautiful walking trails, with waterfalls and amazing views. One was pretty challenging (Zweribachwasserfälle, as described - bring good shoes) and one was easier for the small kids, but both were great. A few notes - the house is further out from the center of Simonswald than we originally thought (~25 minutes) and is ~50-60 minutes from Freiburg. Definitely do your shopping first! Also, the roads are something to be aware of, for those unfamiliar with the location - some are very narrow and winding in some areas, use caution, and plan ahead. Thank you so much Annette for having us!"

Relaxing in Sankt Margen

"Lovely hotel with a family feeling and ideal for hiking lovers!!! This place is ideal for a phone, social media rehab as the surroundings are mesmerising . Quiet town where you can get really bored but very pleased in the same time. Staff very attentive and helpful when needed."

Tannehüsle large - quiet, with a south-facing view

The Perfect Location

"This house is a gem! We loved our time and were sad to leave. The location is spectacular: a quiet neighborhood, beautiful view, within walking distance of a grocery store, bank, bakery, and restaurants. It is in a central location for hiking, swimming, etc. The house was very clean, comfortable beds, and a kitchen with very possible thing you could ever need. We would give 15 stars if we could! Highly recommends staying here."

"The manager and every single member were incredible! Every small favor we asked for they found a way to help our group. The dinner was superb. The breakfast was very complete and fresh. The lady who bakes the breads was just the most wonderful professional. We loved this team and all they do. And you have to love the view of the mountains and the church bells ringing down the valley. "
