We had to argue for the room we orginally paid for and also we were downgraded for the end of our stay. It felt like we paid a lot of money ($450/nt) to not be treated like anything special. $450 is a lot of momey in Portugal. or anywhere..it was disappointing. "Lovely hotel! Large, spacious, beautiful rooms. Our balcony was right on the open square. It was amazing! The bar was awesome and the American bar tender was very nice and helpful. "The best thing about Wine & Books Hotel has got to be the friendly and professional staff. The rooms and all the facilities were truly gorgeous, including the pool, and steam room. Our only gripes with the hotel has to do with the "technology". The light switches are confusing and impossible to find in the dark. The "smart tv" has been made dumb by the IT team so that you cannot connect your computer to watch streaming services (and the tv is not required with any streaming apps either). And...
