"Greyfriars was an interesting property. The hotel is on the main street, yet it felt contained, safe and quiet. The unit had plenty of room for 4 and the kitchen was well-stocked. There were chairs on a covered front porch that we shared with one other unit. This is not a fancy hotel but it more than met our needs for an overnight stay. The room was clean and I felt safe. "It seems like this motel is in the midst of significant upgrades. While our room showed some signs of wear and tear, there was also evidence of significant new upgrades. We booked for one night but decided to stay for 2. The owner gave us a small discount for the 2nd night. When we checked in, the reception took great effort to ensure all was ready for us. "Arrived at hotel to unhelpful and dismissive receptionist, arrived in room to find no soap in shower, one fork and no other utensil in drawer, no coffee plunger, no dish cloth or tea towel, no microwave. Outside the Smoking area for all guests was very close to our windows and no chance of privacy from them during day unless curtains fully closed. Noise from upstairs rooms very noticeable. "
