"We arrived to the property at 2:30, with a 3:00 check-in. Our room was not ready, which we expected, so we went out for half an hour. When we return a little after 3pm they said our room would not be ready for another 40 minutes or more. We were tired and really wanted to freshen up. The staff were unapologetic (an apology and making the customer feel like they are the priority goes a long way) and made us almost feel like we were imposing expecting the room to be ready on time. The extended family who run the business is lovely and although their English is somewhat limited, they always figured out what I was asking and made every effort to assist. "The breakfast was first rate! If breakfast was the only thing served at this hotel, I'd return just for that. Did not like the damp odor from the bathroom. There needs to be some device that keeps all the moisture within the shower area. Its a humid climate so water from the shower gets on the floor of the bathroom and never dries properly hence the odor of mildew."
