We booked a junior suite, which due to the layout with the divider in the middle wasn't as spacious or practical as we were expecting, but for the value we got it for, no complaints at all (we're only two people, so in future would probably not have booked a junior suite again). For a one or two night stay to see the sights...

"The room is traditional with comfortable bed and sofa . The view is good and hotspring is excellent . I strongly recommend for anyone enjoy Japan hot spring should be in there ! "

"It was very close to the castle park and had a number of options for dining nearby, though we walked a bit further out to go to some specific places. The breakfast was in the building next door one of the days with a great view of the whole city. That hotel seemed a bit more luxury, but the room in ours was comfortable and spacious, so no complaints. "

"We had Suite Room B and it was very spacious and well maintained. Rurikoh had many good services (free shuttle to/from Kagaonsen train station, spa w/massages, outdoor foot onsen, taiko drum performance, free afternoon snacks), a beautiful outdoor onsen and large indoor one, very good traditional Japanese breakfast, and very welcoming staff. A short walk (approx 8 min) to several grocery stores and restaurants."
