"We enjoyed our stay at Bannatyne spa hotel. The executive double room was spacious and relaxing with a queen sized bed. The spa/leasure facilitates were very good. Just a shame we had to pay extra for that. "

This hotel is a converted grade 2 listed building with several rooms. We stayed in the Courtyard room which had brilliant underfloor heating (in fact it was a little too hot during the evening), lots of cute oriental artefacts and a large amount of space. The kimono style robes and slippers are a lovely editions, as well as the little chocolate eggs...

"Staff were friendly and the property itself exudes vintage elegance. Unfortunately our room (Room 5 on ground floor) smelt extremely strongly of damp, so we didn't unpack any belongings. Despite opening windows and airing the room, there remained a very strong smell. There is obviously a long-term damp problem with this room which the owners should really get fixed."
