"Our brief stay at the W only served to remind us of how much Austin has fallen from the city we all once loved very much when we were young. I travel for work and stay in hotels weekly. I have been treated better at a $40/night cinderblock motel than how we were treated at The W. It all started when we pulled up to have our truck valet parked. "This is a great property that is thoughtfully designed with a very nice and accommodating staff. We’ve stayed here a few times and rooms near 6th street can be pretty noisy late into the night. The hotel provides ear plugs but if you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room overlooking the courtyard. Those are much quieter. The area is fun and near good shops and restaurants. Try dinner at the hotel restaurant, Verbena, if you can. It was a great and a pleasant surprise. "
