"Very friendly and helpful staff, couldn't do enough for us. Beautiful room. Would have liked more vegetables dishes on the menu plus a choice of breakfast prices. I'm not a big eater and would just have had some yoghurt and a couple of croissants, which I felt was not worth £24. Evening meal was delicious and puddings lovely."

"Hotel is having a refit at the moment, not a big problem . Hotels in need of a general overhaul, bits and pieces need doing in and around the rooms. Breakfast was ok. "

"It's not every day you can say you stayed in a 16th century hotel. Of course getting to the room is tricky unless you have balance on wonky floors & stairs. But it's character features, bit of creaky floorboards. The room was fairly modern but was surprised no telephone which I needed. Had to shut the window to sleep to cut down outside noises but not totally. Food was good, restaurant was full, staff friendly. Unique experience."
