"Wasn't quite sure what to expect however, after a warm welcome in and seeing the beautiful glowing pool area at night, I knew it was a good choice. Housekeeping folks working quickly and efficient. Everyone so friendly. The Malaysian breakfast was delicious especially with a small menu. It's only a short walk or ride to the busy beach area Many nice restaurants in whole area with inexpensive Grab rides. Fun activities and beautiful beaches near. What more could one need?"

"Excellent for a 4 star hotel. Amazing pool and the private beach is one of the best I have ever seen. Best hotel experience so far. Only negatives are that there is no insulation around the windows and the gaps are huge. Bugs can easily crawl in."

"I’d give Ambong 11/10 stars if I could. We had such an amazing stay for 8 nights in a deluxe sunset pool villa. The service was excellent, the staff were amazing and friendly, the food was superb! We loved all the food at Rimba and the Pegaga vegan cafe on site. The Amaala spa was great - had multiple massages. The Amaala Signature 90 mins treatment was great. The pool villas are on a steep hillside, so guests with mobility issues may need to carefully consider suitability - though a car...

"Service was great. Room was great. Ocean view on the beach. Front exterior of th ehotel is somewhat offputting but once you enter there is a great freindly atmosphere and the staff really are attentive to you. Cookies and fruit in your room everyday. Bar was friendly and breakfast was included."

"Nice hotel with a very good pool. My main issue is the lack of decent air conditioning. This was manageable in the rooms as they also had large fans but completely inadequate in the fitness room. This was a glass room facing the sun for most of the day and the air conditioner barely put out any cold air leaving it a dangerous temperature to workout. It’s a good hotel in other aspects but if you want to use the gym during your stay choose somewhere else."

"The villas at Lavanya are beautiful and very well maintained. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment with pool. The apartment was quite spacious elegantly built and furnished, with full kitchen and washer dryer. The service was awesome! The only issue I had was that the master bathroom had no door and the toilet in it had glass doors. And that was a major inconvenience for us. Except that, I liked everything about this place!"

"The hotel is nice and it has a superb sunrise. We had a premier sea view room and it was amazing to wake up and see that sunrise. Besides that though there is not much to do around and in the area dining options are limited. Cleanliness was ok but could be improved. Noise level was also hard to manage because there is a live band every night that we could hear from our room."
