"Staff is super nice. Hotel is a bit outdated, the rooms can use a decoration refresh but they are big and clean. About a 10 min walk to Gengenbach town centre. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but the vibe looked relaxing. "

"Honestly, the staff here are some of the most patient, kind, and generous folks you will ever meet. My only gripe is that the WiFi was very poor and caused issues when in virtual meetings. However, the staff were splendid and am happy to have stayed here. "

"The service was friendly and welcoming. The room was not so good. Quite small. bed was comfortable. Shower was very small but with plenty of hot water. no refrigerator. poor amenities. In the shower there is one dispenser with some liquid that is a one-for-all (shampoo conditioner and soap). It is very diluted and of poor quality. No slippers in the room. "Hotel Hirschen Glottertal is a lovely hotel in a very quaint village. This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for a home base around many hiking trails and beautiful nature. The facilities and amenities are exceptional. It was a delight to explore the wonderful scenery and come back from a hike to a relaxing sauna session. The staff were accommodating and the breakfast and restaurant delightful. "

"First impressions were slightly underwhelming, but ignore those, the hotel is excellent and the staff are great. The food was wonderful and the pool was lovely. To swim and watch kites and eagles overhead is a rare pleasure and now a glorious memory. Criticisms - the room tended to get quite hot and there is public transport but it’s a bit of a walk away, but those a minor criticisms. On the main question - would I go back? Yes. Gladly. Gratefully."

"This wellness hotel is beyond excellent!!! From the amazing services to the views of the Black Forest and the super lush meadows from our room. There are 10 different spas and 2 pools- inside and outside which our kids loved! The room is very nice with comfortable beds. Our teenagers stayed upstairs with 2 beds and we were downstairs. "The room was spacious and comfortable, but certainly not worth the price nor rating of a 4.5 star hotel. Hotels.com boasted "4 restaurants" while in actuality there was only one restaurant with 4 different sitting areas with the same menu and you could not choose in which area you wished to sit. The older staff was also not at all friendly and acted a bit annoyed with every question or request. There were also loud noises with the creaking of the wood steps and hallways."
