"Enjoyed a 3 night stay. Quiet area but short drive to lots of lovely places. Breakfast had a good choice. Like a lot of buffets the food could have been hotter. We managed to use the pool and hot tub on 2 occasions, you just have to keep checking for a quiet time. The pool area around the hot tub has some signs of slight mould. Jack who served in the bar and restaurant was lovely, he really couldn’t do enough for you and was constantly checking with guests if they needed anything. Malcom less so...

Brainshaugh Priory by the River Coquet A priory was founded at Brainshaugh in 1147 for nuns who belonged to the Premonstratensian Order. The chapel ruins are still visible, but all other buildings survive only as buried foundations. The source of the river Coquet is in the hills along the Scottish border near Rothbury. It winds through Coquetdale to the North Sea coast at Amble.
