The staff were really welcoming and made our stay special, every detail of our stay was taken care of. We had the half-board with dinner and breakfast included. The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."

"Wonderful experience! A stately & historical large ryokan nested on the eastern hill slope of Gero town. My second stay at this ryokan & will continue to stay there next time I am in Gero. Very good vista of the town in the morning or evening. Very large garden & landscape, with tall tress & seasonal flower trees.or bushes.. a beautiful & varied feast for the eyes & senses if one come at different seasons... Has its own hotel museum to showcase it's checkered history & early artifacts, etc....

"Came here with my husband and mother. A little sad that there was no view surrounding this ryokan. Unlike the ones I stayed in while I was in Hakone and Sapporo. This inn is small and has limited facilities (but it is enough.) Room was spacious and the futon was very comfortable to sleep in, staffs helped prepare the futons for us to rest efficiently. Both breakfast and dinner were good but a tad overpriced for what I was getting (beef portion was really little). The hot spring water was not as...
