Old bed, very old furniture which has been hand painted to "modernise" it, well worn carpet, pokey little bathroom, door that doesn't fit the frame so light stands in from the corridor all night. "Christ's College is an old institution with lovely grounds in the centre of Cambridge and it is easy to walk to attractions.The accommodation is in a modern block at the back of the grounds and was built by the architect for the National Theatre .So I was faced with a huge flight of concrete steps and no lift!Luckily I had help with my case from a gardener on my arrival and a cleaner as I left and in between I got quite fit! But I think you should warn prospective guests with limited mobility...

High comfort; low cost
"This is our third time staying in this hotel, and we are likely to stay here again next time we visit Cambridge. Since it's located in an industrial park, the hotel is not close to any tourist attractions but it is inexpensive. Cambridge is only about 15 minutes away by car, so it's quite convenient. The rooms are all spacious enough for a short stay, and are modern -- power outlets everywhere; large shower with plenty of hot water; very comfortable bed; choice of firm or soft pillow; effective heating/cooling. Breakfast is quite extensive and good quality, with vegetarian options available upon request. They also have two microwave ovens in the lobby for guest use, and there are several nearby supermarkets that sell microwave dinners. Parking can be tricky when the hotel is full, but the parking lot is well-lit and quite safe. The staff are all very helpful and cheerful -- we were pleasantly surprised by how ready and willing they were to help us with any little request. This is definitely a good choice for the budget-conscious traveller who doesn't want to compromise on comfort. "
