"It was in an old building but it had been well maintained. The room was small but functional. There was a very good continental breakfast available. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great location!"

"This is an excellent property, bigger than a hotel, with more amenities, and so close to everything. We could walk where we wanted and always felt safe when we got home late. The staff was super friendly and communication was perfect. We will be coming back here when we stay I Aveiro! "

"We booked this hotel because it was not expensive. We arrived early and were surprised that we were offered a room and could go there as soon as around 9AM. The lady at reception was very nice. Our room was pretty clean but incredibly cold. There were spare blankets and a heater. We used them, but I still could not warm up after a shower with water slightly higher than body temperature, it never became warmer. If you travel during the winter, you better reconsider this place. "The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the train station. We were in Ovar for the Spring Carnival which venue is also walkable from the hotel. We liked the quiet neighborhood and good breakfast. The facilities are a bit dated but are in decent condition, They don’t provide water kettles so if you love a cup of tea, you may need to figure out something."

I understand as a frequent traveler that you can’t compare every property on the same scale but even taking this quirky little town into the formula, my biggest issue was expectation. Simply put it was so underwhelming compared to how the place sells itself. "This is a beautiful boutique hotel run by a family. They prepare a delicious breakfast for all the hotel guests each morning. The area around the hotels has absolutely stunning views. There are a couple local restaurants they recommend and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. This best prices of the 6 cities we visited in Portugal. "

"Loved the hotel it was very easy to find we paid extra for a canal view which was lovely. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room all welcome. Toiletries in the bathroom were very nice and a big bath towel! There wasn't a huge amount for breakfast but was more than enough to fill your plate over and over. The coffee was delicious! Parking isn't on site but you can drop your bags at the door and the car park isn't far to walk- we paid €8 with a card from reception. The staff were lovely. Would highly recommend."

"This was a great hotel. Nice clean room that was perfect for what we needed. Walking distance to the canal, gondola tours, shopping centre and restaurants. The staff was really helpful. We opted for private parking which was below the nearby mall - the hotel provides a swipe card and directions. A short walk back to the hotel, but felt very safe about leaving the rental car there. "
