"Very nice hotel in fantastic location, staff were great, room was great, ibreakfast was great - t would be 5 stars if not for the dinner. The table d”hote is all that was on offer - 2 course for £34, that would be fine if the food matched the price tag. Seem to be using poor quality ingredients - I had a badly cooked bit of Hancock with some poor quality frozen peas (the hand cut fries were good) - I left half of it which should maybe have indicated there was an issue - I suspect the staff are...

"Colin welcomed with a great smile and gave a quick tour of the place. He also gave an overview of Dumfries' history which was amazing. The place felt like home and was very clean and worth the money spent. Morning breakfast was delicious. I would definitely book a stay here again if I come to Dumfries. "

"This is a perfect place to stay when travelling and to break up the journey. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was excellent, quiet and comfortable and the fact that we could take our well behaved dog was why we chose to stay. "Nice little place at a good price as we were going to The Open at Troon. No services in the village but next village has a great food pub and hotel that does decent pub Faye. when we visited the hotel bar and restaurant was closed for refurb but they did do a good breakfast"

"Terrific place to stay. Well organised, well run. Alan was very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. There were nice little touches, such as facial wipes, cotton pads and ear buds left out for guests. We had a lovely breakfast, great accommodation and had a really nice stay."
