"we did late-check-in. but the way that pass the key was really irresponsible and NOT safe, I think. I didnt realize her contact & 24hour contact didn't work, so we took long time to check-in (Guimaraes might be a safe place, but...😥😫) Also "the reception opens at 10am" is too late. the price is really reasonable if guests don't do late-check-in. "

"We checked in and immediately was appalled at the smell our room had. A combination of BO and whatever chemical/cleaning solution they used to try to mask it. "Loved the pool, very nice hosts, great breakfast, room was nice, however the description of amenities is not accurate - there was not air conditioning in the room, or is there a restaurant or pool side bar, which left us stuck for lunch when enjoying the pool. "This review goes well beyond the 5 stars. While the Hotel was magnificent, the customer service shined even brighter. We arrived in town after a long 6 hour drive through some hard rain. The city had some streets blocked off due to a student parade and it was really difficult to locate the hotel with my GPS. When I called the front desk to get some assistance, they figured out where I was and ran out in the rain to help me finally find the hotel. Things like this is why I love Portugal so...
