"The LBV hotel is an absolutely beautiful property. However, it is a VERY steep climb up to it from Pinhao. Unless you have a car (which is challenging to drive in this area) or want to pay for a taxi to get to a restaurant it is not convenient. I averaged 10 miles a day travelling in Europe and this climb was A LOT. I think this is the norm for the area. Hotel was a GREAT bargain but challenging to get to."

I didnt realize her contact & 24hour contact didn't work, so we took long time to check-in (Guimaraes might be a safe place, but...😥😫) Also "the reception opens at 10am" is too late. the price is really reasonable if guests don't do late-check-in. The guesthouse has been renovated to perfection (you can tell love went into every detail), located in an absolutely stunning and peaceful area. The family who owns and runs this property is amazing. I so enjoyed getting to know the manager, who is a very impressive young woman! One of the major highlights of my six weeks in Portugal! Cannot recommend Casa do Santo highly enough "
