"The place exceeded our expectations. Lawrence is a first class host. The place is really quirky and well worth the money. Leeuwarden is just a fantastic base in the north of the country and we made a visit to one of the Wadden Islands with a two hour ferry journey which was splendid. "

Only thing that was tough was the hotel did not offer any face towels, or wash rags. They only had a a bath towel and what I assumed was a floor mat towel. But outside of that the stay was perfect! The bedside lamps had yellow bulbs in them, and the ceiling fixture was also dim. The food in the adjoining cafe was good, and breakfast had everything we wanted."

"This is a humble little place above a bar/restaurant. The bed was really nice, and the bathroom was squeaky clean, with good water pressure in the shower. There was a nice radiator that worked well and a shelf above it, that made it easy to dry things in the rainy season. That said, it is above a bar. So on Fri and Sat you aren't going to get to bed before 2 AM unless you have serious ear protection. There are only six rooms, but the walls are extremely thin, so expect to also hear your...
