Don’t let the truck stop and hotel description make you wonder if it’s a clean safe place. I grew up in Portland and this area wasn’t desirable years ago but it’s a super convenient location and super clean. No smoking smell. Delightful front desk agents. "Ive stayed here at least 6x. The front desk staff very nice. Room was clean. Water is hot. I had my dog with me (third time hes been here). The property is very large, so to walk him around is s decent distance. The dog area is good. I have no problem going out at 3a if my dog needs to go out. Im not sure if I would be okay with doing that in Portland City Center. Parking is ample & free. Ive eaten at the bar dining a few times, its good. They do have a sit down restaurant, but Ive never been in there. The one thing I really like about it is the walking path along the river. It’s about a 1 mile walk until you get to the private gated homes. So it’s a good solid 2 mile roundtrip walk with my dog. Theres plenty of places to eat on the island..fast food + restaurants. Overall good place to stay. "
