Breakfast is amazing: plenty of food choices and Finnish specialties including the Karelian pie (and veggie option of that even). The hotel is modern, clean and tidy, with maintaining a hint of their prison history. The associated part of the building is almost a community: a gym, a spa, bakery, restaurants, shops and a funicular going downhill to the river. Highly recommended, and definitely will stay...

"This was the third time we stayed at the hotel. Friendly and fast check-in. It was a nice surprise to see a welcome-back card with chocolate in the room. The room is small but well designed that there are plenty of places to keep the little stuff, that we appreciate very much. It was clean and the bed sheets were nicely white. "Lovely stay at this property. Helpful service from the reception team. Rooms are very comfortable and had all the linen etc you could ask for. VERY short walk to the marina area. If you’re a traveller with mobility concerns, consider how you would walk around town as it is at the bottom of a hill. "
